  • Rambling

Hey! I finally got a call from Bernadette. Actually it was a return call. We went to Fayetteville to Ozark Natural Foods and I called while we were there to find out if she wanted me to pick anything up for her. She didn't answer, so I left her a message. When we were finished shopping, we stopped at Hastings, a few blocks away. Just before Joe got back in the van from his unsuccessful hunt, the phone rang. Bernadette said that yes, she needed a few things. Since she had to think of things on the fly, it was an interesting venture. We picked up a few items, then she thought of a few more, then ... Well, you get the idea.

Now the trick is to find a time next week when we can deliver it all. Hubby goes back to Atlanta tomorrow. Steve is teaching a four day class on story writing for the home schoolers (and whoever else shows up). We have two appointments to take Jose to the chiropractor (oh yeah, I have yet to tell that story...). I promised to give Raindrop sessions to a whole family. And to top it all off, Steve has to go to Tulsa on Saturday for his return to college flight.

All that aside, Bernadette says that Stephanie continues to improve daily. She is now walking with no assistance. They are not challenging her to walk in congested areas, though because her balance is still iffy. Of course, she can only walk in the isolation ward. They are not ready to release her to the other part of the hospital until she gets through this agitation stage. every day, her speech is easier to understand. Stephanie is still worried about her children. It is as though she thinks they were with her when she was hit. Sometimes, she remembers after she asks that Bernadette told her they are doing fine, but a few minutes later, she inquires about them again.

Bernadette seems to be doing well enough. She was telling me that she is trying her best to eat healthy from WalMart, but that is not always easy to do. One thing that surprised me was when she told me she had a bunch of juice. When she was at my house, she would not go near juice -- it had too much sugar for her and gave her difficulty breathing, she said. She certainly has come a long way.

I sent Christmas greetings to Fr. Selvin, but have yet to get a reply. I am hoping it is because he is busy saying Mass and bringing the Love of the Christ Child to all those he serves.

I hope your New Year is filled with blessings. Thank you so very much for your prayers and support.
