Boy! Am I ever behind on keeping you updated. I got this from Fr. Selvin in Africa on January 5 (think you might understand that things have been a bit crazy around here through January...???)
Thank you very much for your prayers and [David]'s, this is the best help I have ever had in my life until now that I'm going to get 6 years as a priest on 6th of Jan. and 32 years old on 26th. This month it will be hard for me to come often to town bcause coming here Malindi town means expenses and personally this month I'd paid my last debt when from the insurence came another claim to me that there was an exess of the expenses of the repairs' car from last year accident I had. It seem to be like God is testing me, so that I persevere. so have nice day and greet for me all. God bless you. yours in Christ. Fr. Selvin Garcia I.
Last summer, Father Selvin was driving back from a far off mission and he was run off the road by a Muslim group. His car was seriously damaged, but we thought it was fixed. Apparently there are continuing problems from the 'accident.' Please continue to pray for his safety (and the safety of all missionaries, wherever they might be) and for his continued preseverance. He has been in Kenya for 5 years, now and would like to go back to his home in Guatemala for a little while. However, there is no one to take his place, so his superiors are telling himn that he needs to stay until they can find a replacement.
Let us pray:
"Lord, send workers into Your harvest, and do not allow humanity to be lost for lack of missionaries, pastors, and people dedicated to the cause of the Gospel."
